Some people come to Winsnes to experience peace and
tranquillity (it is possible to visit areas where there is perfect silence within fifteen minutes of the house) while
others prefer a more active holiday.
Activities we offer include: fishing, hunting, horseback riding, mountain excursions, photography, wilderness experiences, moose safari, river boarding etc. In the winter it is an ideal base for dog sledding and cross-country skiing.
Surroundings
Flanked by the mighty Gaula river on one side and the Forrolhogna National Park on the other, Winsnes is in the heart of Midtre Gauldal, also known as ‘Little Norway’ because the region has all the classic Norwegian features such as rivers, mountains, tundra, fjords and woodlands.
It is a very beautiful region with the river just a few hundred metres from the farm and the mountains accessible by a short five minute drive.
