Salmon Fishing: Special Fishing and Casting Courses
with Jan Erik Granbo
In 2008 we will begin our special combination packages for groups staying at Winsnes. In addition to enjoying a full week’s fishing on the exclusive salmon beats, guests will enjoy a one week casting course with Jan Erik Granbo. Guests will also enjoy dedicated guiding for eight hours per day on the river.
Itinerary
Sunday – arrive at Vaernes airport where a Winsnes staff member will meet you, help you to collect
your hire car and help you to find the fishing lodge. At the lodge, the group will receive a welcome talk from Matt Hayes
and introductions will be made to fishing guides. After tea and coffee, guests will take an orientation tour of the fourteen
pools on the fishing area with their guide. After dinner, guests will be free to fish.
Monday – after breakfast, Jan Erik Granbo will give the group a three hour lesson covering the basics
of underhand casting. After lunch, guests will commence fishing with their guides.
Tuesday – Friday – each day guests will receive two hours additional casting tuition while fishing
in pairs. The rest of the day they will fish in pairs, some of the time with their guide.
Saturday – guests will fish in pairs and there will be a grand dinner on Saturday night.
Sunday – depending on flight times, guests can fish right up until the time they leave for the airport.
