Trout and Grayling Fly Fishing: Equipment
Equipment needed for trout and grayling fishing
- Rods - rated between weight # 2 and 6. Typically, four and five on the rivers and five and six weight on the lakes.
- Lines – floaters mainly but sink tip, intermediate and sinking lines can be useful for lake fishing.
- Reels – small, lightweight
to hold above lines plus at least fifty meters of backing.
Chest Waders - Layered clothing
- Midge and mosquito repellent
- Wading Jacket
- Leaders: mono and fluorocarbon from 0.12mm up to eight or ten pounds for streamer fishing.
- Flies: nymphs, dries, streamers, muddlers, loch style and traditional wets.
