GFF Salmon Fishing 2011, price per rod for oneWeek
Note that fishing commences on June 1st and finishes on the last day of August.
Week 23: 5000kr - a good week for big fish but high water can cause problems and prevent the fish from getting to our section of the river. High water, sinking lines and difficult fishing but the stakes are high.
Week 24: 9000kr - a very good week for big fish but high water is a risk. Big flies, sinking lines and cold water make this a week not for the feignt hearted. A very good week for very big fish given decent water conditions. Indeed, this is often the week when the legendary Gaula monsters are caught.
Week 25-29: 13000kr - these are the peak weeks. In a very bad year, WInsnes may not see salmon until the beginning of July but in a typical season, by the third week the fish are usually arriving in numbers. These are the weeks that see large runs of fresh fish and big fish too. The water is warming up and there is less reliance on fast sinking lines. Nice fishing, lots of running, silver fish!
Week 30: 12500kr - a good week but there is a risk of slow sport if the river is very low. In a normal year the river will still have good flow and fresh fish will be coming in. Fish will begin to settle into the pools and the river will be full of salmon. Casting will be getting easier by the week. Easy Wading. Fish more difficult to tempt.
week 31: 9000kr - as above but with a greater risk of low water. Less running fish but if we get rain, fishing can be excellent. Ideal casting conditions and easy wading.
Week 32: 7500kr - greater risk of low water but rain can really switch the fish on. Typically, the river can be tackled with single and light double hand rods. Wading and casting easy.
Week 33: 5000kr - extra water can make the fish really switch on. Fish may become aggressive as the spawning season draws closer. Low water is normal but the river is usually full of fish that can be diffuclt to catch. Wading and casting easy.
Week 34: 5000kr - good fishing is often enjoyed in this week as the fish become increasingly aggressive. Most fish will have settled into the river but there will still be a few fresh fish running. A very reliaqble week for large resident male salmon.
Salmon FIsher's Itinerary for GFF Rotation Fishing
